FanDuel Switches to $1,000 No Sweat First Bet

For most of June, FanDuel offered a Bet $5, Get $200 promotion to new customers. With this promo, all you needed to do was to create an account, place a deposit (minimum deposit was $10), and wager just $5 on any event. Regardless of the outcome of your qualifying wager, you would get $200 worth of free bets.

The free bets only had a 1x playthrough, so it was a pretty sweet deal. FanDuel likely strategically introduced this promotion in June to lure in more customers during the NBA and NHL playoffs.

As soon as that promotion was over, FanDuel introduced another new customer bonus, calling it the $1,000 No Sweat First Bet.

How it works 

With this deal, being a new account holder on FanDuel protects your first wager by reimbursing you with up to $1,000 in free bets in case that first bet loses. You collect the winnings and continue as normal if you win the qualifying bet.

There are no promo codes you need to use to become eligible for this offer. Simply create an account, place a deposit of at least $10, make a wager on any type of betting market, and enjoy your free bets if you lose.

You can use the free bet credits you potentially receive as you wish. In other words, you decide whether you want to split the sum or use it all at once. This is in contrast to the BetMGM $1,000 risk-free bet, for example, which has far less flexibility. Namely, BetMGM gives you either a single free bet if the sum is $49 or less or splits the sum into five equal parts when the qualifying wager is $50 or more.

Like the last intro promo, the free bets from the $1,000 No Sweat First Bet have a 1x rollover. Also, the free bets must be used within 14 days after they are credited to your account.

Note that this promotion isn’t available in every state where FanDuel operates. There are still three states that have different offers for new customers, including:

• FanDuel Colorado: 100% first deposit match up to $250. Fund your new account with at least $10 and get your deposit matched dollar-for-dollar.
• FanDuel Indiana: Bet $5 and get $150 in free bets. This bonus works the same as FanDuel’s special June promo, only with a smaller free bet sum. 
• FanDuel Virginia: First bet match up to $250. Make any wager, and FanDuel will match it with free bets up to the limit.

It’s unknown whether the $1,000 No Sweat First Bet will reach these three states. In any case, this offer is to stay in all other states that FanDuel operates in. 

Unlike the Bet $5, Get $200 promotion that only lasted for about three weeks in June, the $1,000 No Sweat First Bet will likely stay active for the rest of the year and be valid in time for the start of the 2022 NFL season.

This also makes FanDuel’s intro promotion competitive with most other major US sportsbooks. The potential free bet sum matches many other betting sites, while the ability to use the free bet credits at your discretion is a huge advantage. 

The only big operator that stands out with its intro deal is PointsBet which gives new customers two risk-free bets totaling $2,000.
