Yankees collapse and get so bad even WWE is now firing shots

The collapse of the New York Yankees is so notable that even WWE commentator Michael Cole took a shot at them during the Clash at the Castle event.

In the first half of the 2022 season, the New York Yankees looked like unbeatable World Series contenders. They’ve been on a downward spiral since returning from the All-Star hiatus, and a once-mighty AL East lead has shrunk to five games over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Things are getting so bad for the Yankees that they’ve even been shadowed by the WWE. In particular, lead commentator Michael Cole at the in Cardiff, Wales on September 3rd.

For those wondering about the context of Cole’s comments about the Mysterio family, we’ve got you covered.

Legendary wrestler Rey Mysterio has teamed up with “The Rated R Superstar” Edge to take on The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and Damian Priest). Dominik Mysterio, Rey’s son, was ringside when his father decided to team up with Edge at the event. Mysterio and Edge were victorious after hitting Balor with a 619 and Javelin combo.

After the match, Dominik stood in the ring and out of nowhere kicked Edge under the belt. When Rey scolded him and questioned his actions, Dominik hit his father with a nasty clothesline.

Hence, “the Mysterio family is falling apart faster than the New York Yankees comment” by Cole.

The Yankees have been nothing short of disastrous, having ranged from 15 to 25 since returning from the All-Star break on the morning of Sept. 3. While they’re likely to make it through the postseason, a long run to the fall classic doesn’t exactly look achievable given their game.

From a wrestling perspective, the Yankees desperately need to make a hot day to turn things around.
