Two of the top dogs in the Mountain West Conference will go head to head on Wednesday night when Wyoming (April 22, February 11 MWC) goes to face Colorado State (April 21, April 11 MWC).
Both of these teams look like the keys to getting into the NCAA Tournament, and our Ben Heisler favorites Colorado State as a team to take on this tournament after this season.
Here are the odds for this game through WynnBET:
I’m surprised Wyoming is such a big underdog in this game, as the Cowboys beat Colorado State 84-78 in their first-ever face-off this season.
The Cowboys have also had an impressive 14-8-3 record to the odds so far this season, and I think this matchup will be a lot closer to what the percentage providers are looking for. The odds are on Wyoming.
Both of these teams are in the top 65 for points per game and in the top 25 for effective goal percentage, but Wyoming’s defense is better than Colorado State’s. The Cowboys are in the top 100 in terms of 3-point defense and effective away goalscoring rate so far this season.
While the Rams deserve the favor at home, I think this game will be close enough as the Cowboys at least get 6.5 points.
Lean: Wyoming +6.5 (-110)
