IIconics is one of the most popular duos in WWE’s women’s division. Their great looks and antics on and off the ring have made them stellar heels as the company tries to build rankings on their women’s tag team. In April 2021, team to be ignore as WWE continues to lower their roster to make room for newer, younger talent.
A huge storm of rumors broke out regarding the future of the team. They finally decided signed with Impact Wrestling. They changed their name to IInspiration and launched their own podcast. They enjoyed immediate success, winning the Knockouts Tag Team Championship in their first game.
Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay spoke to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful at WrestleCade Revenge. They said they are enjoying the freedom since being released by WWE. They tried to show more of their true selves in podcast form, but WWE refuted that idea. Jessie said the company never gave the idea a chance.
“Podcast, we advertised it and it got a great number.”
Cassie Lee said that right after the group was launched, they started making their own show. It didn’t take long to come together. They know they’re sticking together and a podcast is coming.
“I would say it happened pretty quickly. It was the next day. Because Jess said, ‘I want some time. We will move forward together, but I need some time to get over this. ‘ I said, ‘Yes. I respect that,’ and I can’t wait any longer. “
IInspiration has built their own brand on their own terms since leaving WWE. Their podcast was a huge success. Instead of wondering what could happen, Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee are forging their own path and loving it every step of the way.
