NS Latest WWE video game has seen its share of the problems. The delay caused by the strained relationship between WWE and the developer slowed things down. Then the WWE roster changes added to the delay.
Battle Selection spoke with several recently released WWE performers about their experiences with the game. The wrestlers had a surprising amount of input into their game characters. They tried to make their faces and movements look as accurate as possible using modern scanning and motion capture technologies.
Each wrestler had a face scan done. They will also scan again if the wrestler has a tattoo to make sure they are depicted correctly. Finally, they were sent motion capture video to give feedback on the accuracy of their movements.
The game was originally planned to feature a large roster of NXT wrestlers. With roster changes and gameplay being delayed multiple times, it may not be possible for them to be included at release. Those wrestlers can become downloadable content down the line.
The original plan was to include a large amount of NXT talent, although we’re not sure how many new stars will be added.
The next WWE video game isn’t set for any official announcement until 2022. The last few releases have been an absolute disaster. The company has halted the main video game business while the issues are fixed.
Now, we’re getting closer every day to a new WWE game. Extreme fans who have lost faith in WWE to deliver a quality video game will have to be shunned in order to return. Time will tell if they finally got it right.
