Lashley with MVP

Bobby Lashley has been on a dream trip since last year. At Elimination Chamber 2020, he had helped The Miz successfully redeem his Money in the Bank contract Drew McIntyre. A few days later, Lashley speared The Miz to begin his first reign as WWE Champion. A dominant run continued with the title firmly in place Almighty‘s shoulders for several months.

Lashley successfully defended the title against the likes of Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston and Goldberg. But his reign came to an anticlimactic end after Big E successfully redeemed his money-in-the-bank contract on him! The All Mighty started wildly chasing the title and managed to win it back at the 2022 Royal Rumble after pinning then-champion Brock Lesnar.

This sparked a dream feud between Bobby Lashley and the Beast Incarnate, which led to a match at the Elimination Chamber. While Lashley had the momentum to successfully defend his title, he didn’t get a chance to defend it! He was injured before he could even enter the match – after Rollins crashed Theory through Lashley’s pod!

Lashley has not been seen in action since that event. It was reported that the spot was taped to write him off TV as he had a legitimate shoulder problem. But multiple reports indicated that Bobby Lashley was trying really hard to get medically cleared to perform at Wrestlemania 38.

According to Fightful Select, WWE has indeed scheduled a match for the former WWE Champion. While it’s not a championship match, the match could definitely help Lashley resume his dominance on the roster. The All Mighty could face off against the Giant Omos at the Showcase of Immortals. In fact, Omos issued an open-ended challenge to Mania on the latest episode of Raw – which could be answered by the former champion next week.

Bobby Lashley has to fight his way back to the top

A match against Omos definitely means Bobby Lashley has to prove his dominance again and fight his way to the top. The company’s top championships currently sit with Roman Reigns (Universal Champion) and Brock Lesnar (WWE Championship). They will meet in a Title Unification Match in the Wrestlemania Sunday Main Event.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, Lashley is the perfect opponent for both of them. While Lesnar and Lashley are now unfinished between them, Reigns has yet to have a one-on-one feud against him. Considering the tribal chief’s lack of opponents, the All Mighty could well be his next opponent.
