World Series Champion reunion depends on trading partner

The Atlanta Braves are looking to improve their outfield depth at close, but a decent World Series champion reunion depends on the other team.
Despite the emergence of rookie Michael Harris II this season, perhaps the biggest need for the Atlanta Braves as the MLB Trading deadline approaches are further depth in the outfield. Of course, this is largely necessitated by Adam Duvall’s injury, which leaves the defending World Series champion somewhat short-staffed.
As fate would have it, there is a potential trade target from last year’s World Series-winning team that could fill the gap in Atlanta.
Joc Pederson would make a lot of sense for the Braves since he could jump right in and essentially fill the exact role he played last season as a spark plug and power bat who could train or start any day, depending , which Atlanta needs – oh yeah, it’s also a quality option for the DH.
However, a trade for Pederson returning to Truist Park may not depend on the champions, but on the Giants.
Bold rumours: Joc Pederson’s deal hinges on Giants deciding to sell
MLB network insider Mark Feinsand noted that while Pederson would make sense for the Braves, a potential trade would depend almost entirely on what San Francisco is doing at deadline. They’re not far from the NL wildcard race but at the same time the club has slipped and could put the front office in sell mode by deadline.
The good news for Atlanta, as Feinsand noted, is that there are people in the league who believe the Giants will actually sell, which would obviously allow for a Pederson reunion.
There are only a few days left until Tuesday 2nd August when the trading session closes. After that, we can expect the Braves to anxiously await the Giants to decide which direction they will go by deadline date.
