World-famous influencer ‘breaks the internet’ as ‘secret’ revealed

He’s one of the most famous YouTubers in the world — and he practically broke the internet over the weekend.

Swedish YouTube player and content creator Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, announced that he and his wife Marzia are expecting their first child together.

PewDiePie has 111 million YouTube subscribers while Marzia has 8.4 million Instagram followers. So to say the announcement caused a tidal wave of excitement across the internet would be an understatement.

The popular couple shared a video on their various social media platforms and announced, “We’re having a baby!”

“I kept a secret from you guys and that’s that I’m going to be a father,” PewDiePie says in the video, which also includes images from a recent ultrasound.

“We found out (on) November 1st that Marzia is pregnant and I’m so grateful that everything has been going well so far.”

The 33-year-old said Marzia has had morning sickness but is otherwise fine and is approaching the pregnancy like an “absolute champ”.

“So yes, I’m going to be a father,” he said.

“I’m so excited. It’s kind of strange for me, it’s breaking new ground.

“I feel really ready and so does Marzia.

“I just feel so fortunate to be starting a family with the woman I love and I know whatever lies ahead, together we can make it through.”

The video showed the moment the couple found out they were going to be parents, along with footage of them breaking the good news to their family and a look at moments from Marzia’s pregnancy to date.

The post has had more than 5.3 million views on PewDiePie’s YouTube channel since it was uploaded on Sunday.

Fans flocked to PewDiePie’s Instagram to wish him and Marzia, who married in 2019, the best.

“Oh my gosh congratulations to you cuties!!” wrote one follower.

“How exciting!! So happy for you guys,” said another.

“There isn’t a single real person who didn’t smile when they saw this for the first time,” added a third.

Marzia is co-founder and designer with PewDiePie of the ethical clothing brand Tsuki Market.

PewDiePie registered his YouTube channel in 2010 and quickly became known for his game commentary, garnering a huge following online.

Between 2014 and 2017 his channel was the most viewed on YouTube.

Based on that success, he branched out into vlogs, comedy shorts, and music videos.

In 2020 he moved to Japan to live with Marzia, an Italian internet personality and independent businesswoman.
