Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes in sports history and has been an inspiration to many. She started her tennis career as a teenager about two decades ago and hasn’t stopped to this day. She is considered a pioneer of change in women’s tennis and is the flag bearer of a revolution in women’s tennis in the early 2000s.

She has won 23 Grand Slam titles and is currently targeting an elusive 24th Major title. Besides tennis, Serena was also an active businesswoman and a few years ago gave birth to her child Olympia, after which the dynamic of her personality completely changed.

In a recent interview with People, Serena spoke about how her life has completely changed in the last 5 years since Olympia’s birth. She revealed how she manages three completely different things in a single day – tennis, business and motherhood. She said whenever she has to prepare for a tournament, she trains in the mornings, minds her business – Serena ventures out in the afternoons and then spends time with her daughter in the evenings.

“Now when I’m preparing for a tournament, I train in the mornings, take VC calls in the afternoons and then spend time at the Olympia and that wasn’t the case five years ago.‘ Williams said. “It’s totally different. I can’t imagine having this conversation with you a while ago and saying that’s what my life is like.”

After losing the first round at Wimbledon, Serena took a few weeks off and returned to training this week. She was spotted batting with her sister Venus Williams in Washington and will be seen on the court at the Canadian Open next week.
