A Queensland father punched a man for standing in his way in a brutal and unprovoked assault at a Woolworths store.
Zebuai Kane Pomare, 31, of the Gold Coast, assaulted the younger man in a shop at the Australia Fair in Southport on January 5, the Southport Magistrates Court heard on Monday.

The victim fell heavily to the ground as other shoppers ran to him while Pomare walked away.
He suffered facial injuries in the attack.
“You hit him unprovoked just because he was in your way,” said Judge Dzenita Balic.
“You didn’t care who was there. You just hit him.
“Your behavior is simply unacceptable.”
Pomare, a father of three, also spat at two police officers while in custody for the attack.
The incident happened as police tried to hold him down during an episode of uncontrolled anger, Balic said.
“You laughed and said, ‘Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, you got your dog,'” the judge said.
Pomare pleaded guilty to charges of assault and aggravated assault.
Balic said jail was the only “reasonable” punishment for Pomare.
She sentenced him to two years in prison with a parole date of November 5 of that year.
