“Ever since I’ve been leading this theory, I can’t get it out of my head,” she says in the video.
“Men marry the woman before them when they are ready to marry.
“Let us talk about it.”
Taylor said she accidentally stumbled across the theory after scrolling through social media one day.
“I came across this wedding photographer,” she said.
“She’s obviously been to a lot of weddings and observed that the men married the woman before them when they were ready to marry, which implies that this wasn’t necessarily that man’s soulmate or that man’s love for his life.”
“It was just the girl he was with when he was ready to get married and settle down.
“When a man decides he’s financially and emotionally ready to settle down and start a family, he takes a different approach to dating.
“The part of his brain that thinks, ‘Oh wait, there’s another girl out there,’ shuts down because he’s focused on marriage now.
“It’s not about finding the next best thing.”
The post has been viewed more than three million times and received thousands of comments, some agreeing with the theory and others disagreeing.
“Wedding photographer here and it definitely makes sense,” noted one follower.
“Then they text the one they love eight to 10 years later…” wrote another.
“Applies to the men who lost that ‘one’ girl who got away,” speculated another.
“Yes agree, and also the woman who is easy to deal with,” said one follower.
“I’ve heard and seen it. Ex literally married the next girl he dated after I ended things,” one follower shared.
“I asked why and he said he’ll be 30 soon.”
“Yes, and the woman checking what his family, religion and circle expect from him,” wrote another.
“He will reject the girl he loves if she doesn’t fit in.”
Others noted that it wasn’t just men who married whoever was “in front of them.”
“Kim K said she married Kris (Humphries) just because she was 30 and all her friends wanted to get married,” one person noted.
Adding another, “I honestly think girls do that too … I’ve seen friends settle for less than I know they can get.”
“That’s my whole theory about marriage in general, not just for men,” said another.
But others vehemently opposed the idea of men simply marrying whoever was nearby at the time they decided it was time to settle down.
“I refuse. I will never marry a woman I don’t know is right,” wrote one man.
“I don’t even date a woman when my heart is with someone else.”
“Totally agree about. I’ve been waiting to find a partner worth building a life with,” wrote another.
“Disagree…this theory stems from women who have truly loved but refuse to recognize that their husband may not have loved them on the same level,” said one follower.
Others were just a little depressed by the seed that Taylor’s theory had planted in their minds.
“I don’t want to get married anymore haha,” one person wrote, while another said, “Bae are you just finding this out?”
