Woman killed in truck accident near Shepparton

A woman has died in a collision between a car and a truck 26 miles north of Shepparton.

The truck driver is understood to have been traveling on Midland Hwy in Carag Carag on Friday midday when he crashed into a black Holden.

The Holden passenger, a 73-year-old woman from Shepparton, died in hospital.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman, also from Shepparton, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The truck driver, a 24-year-old man from Jan Juc, was unharmed.

He is assisting the police in investigating the accident.

“The area has been cordoned off and it is expected that the crime scene will be assessed later this evening and processed into the morning,” Victoria Police said.
