Woman killed in NSW house fire in Orange

A woman’s body was found in a house after a fire in New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to the home on Brooklands Drive, Orange, around 4pm on Saturday after a house was reportedly on fire.

The fire was extinguished by the NSW Rural Fire Service and a woman’s body was discovered inside the house.

The body has yet to be formally identified, NSW Police said, but is believed to be a woman in her 50s.

Officials with the Central West Police District have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the tragedy.

A report will be prepared for the coroner’s information.
