Woman dead, child among injured in Phillip Island three-car crash

A woman has died and a nine-year-old boy was flown to hospital after a three-car collision on Phillip Island in Victoria.
Bass Coast Highway Patrol officials believe a white Nissan Pulsar was traveling down Phillip Island Road towards Cowes when the driver lost control around 11.30am on Sunday.
“The Nissan cut off a car that was towing a trailer and then collided head-on with a jeep,” Victoria Police said.

The driver of the Nissan, a 63-year-old Wonthaggi woman, died at the scene.
Her passenger, a nine-year-old boy, was flown to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say a man and woman in the car that towed the trailer were not injured, while the jeep’s male driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
