Winter Is Like Temps This Weekend – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Friday had a mix of sunshine and some clouds, but a much milder afternoon as we hit 60s lows than Thursday’s 50-degree chill.
The weekend will see a gradual but dramatic return to colder winter-like temperatures. Saturday’s highs will hit 50s lows but more showers are possible, as the front crosses the area and is light winds.

Some of the colder air can produce some thunder and even some small ice cubes if it’s cold enough, in some spots north and west of the city.
In remote Western Maryland, a winter weather notice will go into effect Saturday for Garrett County, where several inches of snow is likely. The Central Maryland area could see some wet snow Sunday as the coldest air hits in the afternoon.

A very cold mid-20th low on both Sunday and Monday nights will mean the area will freeze hard. Any tender plant planted too early will likely die if left unprotected or covered or brought inside.
A warning to the wise, don’t plant until late April or early May when the sun and soil are warmer.
