Willson Contrera’s bat point deserves a spot in Cooperstown

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras wasn’t just kicked out – he caused a stir after the fact with an epic bat spike.

Contreras was kicked out of the game by home plate umpire Ryan Addition, who called an inside pitch a strike. It’s safe to say that Contreras expressed his displeasure with the call.

Not only did Contreras freak out on addition, which promptly got him knocked out of the game — he also drew the hitting zone with his racquet and then goaded it in the dirt. Wrigley Field exploded with boos at that moment, unable to believe the call or the fact that Contreras was subsequently kicked out.

However, in hindsight, we’re forever grateful Contreras was cast, as we wouldn’t have received that slice of pure glory.

Cubs: Willson Contreras threw the perfect baseball fit

Very rarely do players make their point when they are ejected. This is usually the job of the manager, who is promptly thrown out. But Contreras literally painted a perfect picture for Addition, showing him where that throw from the Arizona Diamondbacks was missing.

I mean what more could you ask for?

There’s a reason Contreras is the Cubs’ franchise catcher, and there’s another reason he’ll make a ton of money should Chicago allow him to meet him Free agent market next winter.

The man knows his strike zone.
