Will Smith is reportedly “very happy” with Jada Pinkett Smith and her post-Oscar support

It’s been a challenge for the actor over the past few months Will Smith after his harrowing Oscar incident last March. Despite this, the Oscar winner is said to be doing well and is “very happy” thanks to the support of his wife Jby Pinkett Smith.

According to an unidentified source speaking to People, “Will is fine. He spends a lot of time with Jada. He appreciates their constant support. They are very close and support each other. Family is everything to her.”

The source also noted that the actor feels like he’s “learned a lot over the past few months,” before adding, “Will appreciates the support he always gets from Jada.”

The update comes just days after Will and Jada were spotted in Malibu, reportedly their first public sighting since the March incident in which the ‘I am Legend’ actor took to the stage and Chris Rock over a joke about the shaved man Head of the actress hit .

Last month, the 53-year-old Hollywood veteran addressed the incident in an apology video on his social media accounts, in which he answered several key questions online, including what role Jada played in the affair and whether she directed her husband to rock to hit after he made fun of her appearance.

“I made my own choice based on my own experiences and history with Chris. Jada had nothing to do with it,” he clarified in his video. “I’m sorry baby. I want to apologize to my children and family for the heat I’ve brought on all of us.”

Online reactions were a bit harsh. Many critics felt Jada had a duty to support the ‘Men in Black’ star and called the argument because of her, including one Instagram user who wrote: “She’s the one who put you on stage to make you like this She should be supportive.” Another person commented, “It wasn’t like she was going against him anyway.”

Will also explained why he didn’t apologize to Chris immediately afterwards and while accepting his award for Best Male Actor for his role in King Richard he said: “At that point I was completely confused. It’s all blurry.”

He added: “I reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he is not ready to speak and if he is he will get in touch. So I’m going to say to you, ‘Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.’ ”
