Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are celebrating the actress’ birthday together after a controversial few months

Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith‘s bond seems stronger than ever as the pair were spotted celebrating the actress’ 51st birthday after a rocky few months.

The pair made headlines in March after Smith beat comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards. The altercation came after Rock, who presented an award for best documentary which later went to Quest Love, joked about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

Ultimately, after the controversial moment, Smith would face massive backlash from the academy and fans. Since then, the couple have kept a relatively low profile following Smith’s numerous public apologies. That was until September 19th.

In an Instagram post shared on Pinkett Smith’s page, the duo, along with close family and friends, were seen gathering at their home for the Matrix Resurrections star’s special day. The guest list included Pinkett Smith and Smith’s son Jaden Smith, Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Zampino and their son Trey Smith.

The clip showed the group singing “Happy Birthday” while Pinkett Smith danced and basked in the love of everyone in attendance. The video continued as Pinkett Smith blew out her candles and gave an impromptu speech. The 51-year-old said: “I’m just grateful. I’m just deeply grateful.”

Smith later jumped in, saying, “The end. She’s grateful.” Alongside the recording, Pinkett Smith took the time to thank everyone for the congratulations she’d received. She wrote in the caption: “I’m so thankful for all the birthday love yesterday. Thank you.” As fans saw the post, many continued to send love to Pinkett Smith.
