Will Cody Rhodes be on Raw in Pittsburgh before WrestleMania?

The rumors all point to Cody Rhodes going to WrestleMania 38 and signed to WWE, but will he be on Pre-PPV Raw in Pittsburgh?

WWE WrestleMania 38 takes place Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3, live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. While there are plenty of big matches scheduled for the show, WWE and wrestling fans in general are wondering what’s the latest with Cody Rhodes.

Earlier this year, Rhodes announced his departure from AEW after several years as executive vice president. From there, reports note that Rhodes’ return to WWE is certain to happen in the very near future. The question is, will he debut on the final episode of Monday Night Raw on March 28? Or will he show up at WrestleMania this weekend?

WWE Rumors: Will Cody Rhodes Debut on Raw or WrestleMania 38?

According to Fightful Select (registration required), Rhodes was “not on the internal script when appearing” on Raw in Pittsburgh, Penn. in Monday. However, Fightful said it is aware that Rhodes is scheduled to fly to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky on Monday, about a five-hour drive from Raw’s location.

Rhodes has been linked with a showdown with Seth Rollins for his return at “The Greatest Stage of All.” Over the past month, Rollins has been frantically trying to find his way to the WrestleMania 38 tag. He failed to win the Raw Tag Team championship with Kevin Owens, losing a match to Owens for the right to host Steve Austin’s “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. on a talk show at WrestleMania, and was beaten by AJ Styles in disqualification by the winner earning a match against Edge in Texas. When the latter happened on March 21, Rollins destroyed the ring area, threatening that Raw wouldn’t happen on March 28 if he didn’t have a match at WrestleMania.

Well, Rollins revealed in a screenshot that Vince McMahon “texted” him over the weekend, asking him to come to his office for a meeting Monday morning. WWE filming the Rollins segment to WWE headquarters, McMahon revealed that all he had to do was ask for a match at WrestleMania, and he would get one. Rollins was surprised but asked who his opponent would be. McMahon says he’ll personally pick his opponent, and he’ll find out at WrestleMania.

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer tweeted that if Rhodes is set to appear at WrestleMania, it will be kept as “a surprise” until Rollins is in the ring.

WWE has officially announced that Rollins’ match against a “mysterious opponent” is scheduled for Saturday, April 2.

Based on the segment, reports from Fightful Select, and tweets from Meltzer, Rhodes will not appear on the March 28 episode of Raw. In all likelihood, he’ll show up at WrestleMania to make a comeback, just like Matt and Jeff Hardy did at WrestleMania 33 in 2017.
