Alabama Football has released its team photo for the 2022 season, and edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. looks like he’s going for blood.

There’s no doubt it’s hot in Tuscaloosa, and the Alabama Crimson Tide are poised to lose the national title, especially Will Anderson Jr. In the team photoif you zoom in closer you’ll see a possessed Anderson, so much so that it seems like he’s the Terminator looking for revenge.

He might as well be; Anderson is one of the fiercest college football defensemen of the last two decades and the stats back it, including last year when his presence on defense allowed the Crimson Tide to make it to Indianapolis in what head coach Nick Saban called ” a conversion year.”

Of course, the internet swam over Anderson’s face in comparison to his teammates, including Bryce Young, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

Like anything that goes viral on social media, there’s an explanation for it, and Will Anderson Jr. was thoughtful enough to do so offer one why he looked like that, according to BamaOnLine’s Charlie Potter.

“I’m not really a big, smiling guy in team photos and stuff like that. They make me smile sometimes, but at that moment it was hot outside and I just wanted to get going.”

Ready to go, huh? Fire quarterbacks and win a national championship? Sounds good for the Tuscaloosa folks. Because if I recall correctly, Anderson’s final season should give teams a reason to be wary of the wrath of one of college football’s most dangerous players.

Last year, Anderson amassed 17.5 sacks and 34.5 tackles for losses, good enough to win Bronko Nagurski’s trophy. While the Heisman would be a stellar accolade to add to his legacy, Anderson’s likely focus is on winning another national championship, which might give him reason to smile.
