The City of Troy Aikman turned on the Cowboys! Okay, maybe it’s extreme, but Aikman shared some thoughts on the Cowboys game plan when they lost San Francisco on the radio in Dallas today. Special, How the Cowboys Use CeeDee Lamb.
“There’s been a lot of news about CeeDee Lamb,” Aikman said. “I hated going back (when I was playing) because nobody cared, but what I’ve seen around the league – not just Dallas, I’ve seen it with a lot of teams – a lot of this offense wants to go up. plan Coordinators, it’s all about planning, instead of, ‘This corner is playing lightly. He’s scared to death.’ Just run the route tree. Run once. Run a dig. Run a bend. Run anything.
“… (Michael Irvin) would have 10 catches at halftime if they played against us the way they played CeeDee Lamb in that game. … The game wouldn’t be that hard. If I had a great player. Receiver and a corner are playing him in only coverage, throw him the ball. He will win most of the time.”
Lamb finished the game with just one capture of 5 targets in 21 yards. Aikman touches on an interesting point and something not often considered. Each NFL fans want an offensive coach with a great scheme these days, but at some point the offense can become too dependent on that scheme. While a play is designed to open a particular receiver, sometimes a QB needs the freedom to improvise and mess up the script. It’s no coincidence that nearly every great QB you can think of is often scripted or improvised based on what the defense is doing.

On Sunday against the 49ers, the Cowboys were too faithful to the script. The same thing happened to Kyler Murray and the Cardinals on Sunday night. It’s not just about having a great attacking mind. It’s about finding a balance between the game caller and the QB responsible for running the play. When you have that, great things happen.
Alright, it’s time to keep an eye on our plans for tonight’s bets and improvise if needed.

Alabama Crimson Tide -3.5
Pick: Alabama -4 (-110): This is a philosophy that is not highly scientific but has served me well over the years. When you are betting College football or basketball, and a ranked team is weaker than an unranked team, you want to bet on the unranked team more often than not. While a lot of us can bet on our phones these days, the giant desert buildings they once forced us to go to if we want to bet are more than just a byproduct of lucky.
There are a few reasons why Alabama is the best team tonight. The first is that Alabama is much better than its record suggests. The Crimson Tide lost three games in a row to drop to 11-6 during the season and was dropped from the standings, but was still ranked 16th by KenPom and 24th by the NCAA’s NET rankings. Two of the three losses in this streak came on the road, while the other was at home to one Auburn team might be the best in the country right now.
And speaking of playing on the road, that’s something LSU hasn’t done much of yet! At the end of December, you may remember when I wrote in this newsletter that you should consider Auburn the favorite target of the LSU contender, and that Auburn is covered. It was LSU’s first top lane game of the season. Tonight is their third time, and while LSU beat Florida in Gainesville, Alabama is a better team than Florida. Alabama is also an excellent offensive recovery team, and that’s an area Tide could exploit against a normal LSU team on defensive glass. Those extra assets will be useful to us.
Main trend: Preferred rate was 20-6-1 ATS in the last 27 encounters.
Here’s what SportsLine is saying about the game: If you don’t care I think you always can see what SportsLine’s Projection Model means.
🏀 College basketball
Select: Over 135.5 (-110) – This was simply a case of my numbers telling me the total was a few points lower than it should have been, so bet on a La Salle defense that has been terrible throughout the season going on. terrible. Explorers (I love non-traditional names) are only 6-8 on the season, with offensive stats coming in at 244th nationally for KenPom adjusted effectiveness and defense being 229th. Rhode Island is much better, as it is 11-4, but its attack is not spectacular (98th). The Rams also move intentionally on offense, restricting possession and leading to a lower total like this.
However, this is a match that criminal Rams can exploit. They have been very strong since these three seasons, shooting 37.9% (22nd), and the La Salle defense is defending the horrendous perimeter. Competitors are up 35.5% from third (274) compared to Explorers this season. The Rams don’t often shoot from three, but I’m hoping they’ll get a more open look than usual tonight, and if they take advantage of them we’ll surpass this total. Damn, we still can even if we don’t. As for why we didn’t just get 13 points with Rhode Island, the Rams aren’t deep, so if they’re late, odds are we’ll see the reserve unit, and I don’t trust them to hold the lead. head … but that might get us through.
Main trend: The score is 10-3 after La Salle’s last 13 wins (La Salle beat St. Joe’s on Monday).
Hornets at the Celtics, 7:30 p.m. | TV: ESPN
Select: Under 219.5 (-110) – See, we’ve got a favorite, and we’re over, so that means it’s time for one below. Arrive NBA! Let’s start with the fact that it’s dangerous to go bottom when these two aren’t playing well because it hasn’t been doing well lately (the difference is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings), but this total is a bit too high for my tastes .
The Celtics have been one of the NBA’s biggest disappointments this season, but the only reason they’re trying to keep their heads above the water is their defense. The Celtics are sixth in the league in defensive ratings. To help with that defense and help offset an offense just “let Jayson or Jaylen run in isolation and hope they score”, they move at an offensively slow pace, coming in at 25th. in the tournament.
They will also try to slow things down tonight. The Hornets rank third in the NBA in offensive rating and want to break out in transitions and speed up opponents, so the best way to beat them is to slow them down and get them half way. Playing at home and as a solid defensive team, the Celtics can do that tonight. Hornets’ attack isn’t nearly as effective when that happens, so there’s a good chance Charlotte struggled to score at its usual rate.
Main trend: Under is the last 8-3 of Boston’s 11 to be considered a favorite.
🔒 SportsChoice of the day: SportsLine’s . projection model NBA’s favorite game of the night between the Dallas Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors.
