Broncos Class in Trading Russell Wilson: REMOVED

The Broncos have been tied up by Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson but the odds of them landing are pretty low right up until the time they close the deal with Wilson.

Denver succeeded in picking a veteran legend from the Colts in Peyton Manning. With Wilson, they will have another move, albeit at a higher cost.

That’s the only reason they didn’t get an A here.

Players in the first round of 2022 are in the Top 10, and they will roll out more first-round picks into the mix. Drew Lock isn’t a huge loss but Noah Fant and Shelby Harris have real value on the field.

Then again, the Rams just won a Super Bowl after deciding a quarterback in hand was worth more than round 1 picks in the dust.

Seahawks Class in the Russell Wilson Trade:

Let’s talk about the positives first. If Wilson wanted to leave Seattle or be paid more than the Seahawks are willing to do on his next contract, the team has tried to acquire a lot of assets in return, including an effective young player and a veteran leader in defence.

The negatives for the Seahawks come from their overall strategy as there are only so many reliable great midfielders in the league and Wilson is one of them. Seattle is going to have to make things really right to get out of this deal with a real foundation for success.

This commercialization doesn’t help with focusing on the franchise’s past missteps.

The Seahawks traded two picks on the first turn, a pick on the third turn, and a player for Jamal Adams from the Jets. By comparison, the Broncos are winning a steal for a nine-time Pro Bowl player and Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Meanwhile, the return of Seattle is just about getting back what they first lost and adding some roles. Is that really worth the loss of one of the league’s top QBs?
