Why Justin Bieber is “scared to death” of Judge Judy

She’s certainly an intimidating presence on TV, so it’s no wonder Justin Bieber is obviously afraid of Judge Judy.

Not because he had to face her in court – although he was clearly worried that one day he might end up in that unenviable position.

Rather, he had to stand her over the fence — as the pair were neighbors during the pop singer’s early years of fame.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Judge Judy said Bieber was “scared to death” of her living next door.

“There was a time before he grew up when he was stupid and did stupid things,” she revealed.

Oddly enough, Bieber’s security team would notify him when Judy left or arrived at her house, she claimed.

“He paid people at the front door to let them know when I was there, whether I was coming or going, so he didn’t have to bump into me,” she said.

While Bieber may not have faced Judge Judy in court, he has had his struggles with the law.

He was arrested for drunk driving in 2014 at the age of 19 after drag-racing a Lamborghini in Miami.

Judge Judy was visibly unimpressed by his behavior at the time.

“Being a celebrity is a gift,” she told CBS Los Angeles when asked about her famous neighbor.

“You could either treat it with respect or make a fool of yourself.

“And he does a very good job of making a fool of himself.”

She added, “I think it’s sad … You’ll remember a little kid who had a chance to have it all and screwed it up by acting like an idiot.”

Bieber pleaded guilty to reckless driving and managed to avoid jail time.

Last year, Bieber reflected on his arrest in a searching Instagram post, saying it wasn’t his “finest hour.”

“Not proud of where I’ve been in my life,” he admitted.

“I was hurt, unhappy, confused, angry, misled, misunderstood and angry at God.

“All this to say that God has taken me far.

“From then to now, something is clear to me.

“God was as close to me then as it is now.”

Bieber seems to have left those darker times behind and is married to model Hailey Bieber.

However, he has been struggling with some health issues in recent months.

Earlier this year, the singer had to temporarily put his Justice World Tour on hold after he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which left his face partially paralyzed.

In June, Bieber shocked fans when he revealed he was suffering from the disease.

“It’s from this virus that’s attacking the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused paralysis of my face,” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

“As you can see, that eye doesn’t blink.

“I can’t smile on this side of my face; This nostril doesn’t move. So there is complete paralysis on that side of my face.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, Ramsay Hunt syndrome “occurs when an outbreak of shingles affects the facial nerve near one of your ears.

In addition to the painful shingles rash, Ramsay Hunt syndrome can cause facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear.”

“This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish that wasn’t the case, but obviously my body is telling me to slow down,” Bieber said after having to cancel a couple of concerts.

“I hope you understand.

“I’m going to use this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so I can do what I was born to do.”
