Who will throw for more yards?
The 49ers-Cowboys game will be the only game this weekend that isn’t a rematch of a regular season game. That means we’ll be seeing Jimmy Garoppolo take on Dak Prescott for the first time this year.
Garoppolo is two places away from Dak Prescott in the top 10 in passing points this season. Jimmy G has improved as a passer this season, which makes Sunday’s game a bit more exciting than in years past.
WynnBET There’s Garoppolo’s pass set at 251.5 (Over: -115/Under: -115), while Prescott’s pass is set at 280.5 (Over: -115/Under: -115).
Even though Garoppolo has gotten better as a passer, I’ll still let Prescott throw further. The Cowboys foul had been out of sync for several weeks during the off-season, but they were able to find their rhythm again in Week 18. Dallas beat the Eagles, with a Prescott pitch nearly 300 yards and 5 touches of the ball.
Prescott has cleared this line in two of his last three games – and the same goes for Garoppolo.
Where I see Prescott really earn his metric is during game time. I predict the 49ers will take a late lead, forcing Dallas to throw and push the ball down the field.
Garoppolo’s yard number will come from meters after catching the ball, which is difficult to predict. Even with Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, I couldn’t put my trust in Garoppolo as a deep passer.
So in short, the Prescott advantage.
