Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso also fought each other throughout the season, but in the end Vettel prevailed to win the championship by three points. Vettel could have lost the title to Alonso if he had finished one position lower or Alonso one position higher.

The race can be viewed on F1TV with a subscription. The whole season was a thrill as Vettel’s title remained uncertain even after the final race following Ferrari’s protest. The 2021 Abu Dhabi GP provided a sense of déjà vu as it was Mercedes versus Red Bull instead of Ferrari.
