White Sox fans chant ‘Fire Tony’ after another disastrous loss

Fed up with manager Tony La Russa at this point, White Sox fans let their voices be heard during a loss to Rangers on Saturday.

At this point, it would be easier to find someone who believes that the Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch and the still-living Elvis are involved in a super secret love triangle than finding one Chicago White Sox Fan standing behind manager Tony La Russa.

There have long been skeptics of La Russa on the south side, but we are now reaching a breaking point from which it seems there is no turning back.

Just days after La Russa chose to leave on purpose Trea Turner with a 1-2 count that subsequently led to a 3-run home run from Max Muncy, the White Sox were tricked into playing an lead against the Texas Rangers on Saturday and eventually had four runs in the upper part of the 10th. surrender and lose innings.

With the team on the verge of falling to a dismal 27-30 during the season, fans left no gray area in their thoughts on La Russa:

And one really has to wonder when the Chicago front office will give in to that request.

The White Sox conquered the AL Central with relative ease last season but were disappointingly uncompetitive in the postseason. However, optimists said it was a year to build on and they could have big things in store for the 2022 season. Under La Russa’s watch, however, they were anything but.

After Saturday’s loss, the club are 6.0 games behind the Twins in the division and third behind the Guardians. Sure, injuries helped, but their manager’s exploits didn’t do them any favors in overcoming that either.

All of this means that if things continue on this course, it shouldn’t be long before fans get their wish.
