Where’s Marty? Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells at Baltimore’s R. House – CBS Baltimore

Hello everybody!
On Wednesday we visited R. House in Baltimore’s Remington neighborhood.

In case you didn’t know, the “R” stands for Remington, the neighborhood bounded by Hampden, Howard Street and the Jones Falls Expressway. Ask any real estate agent who does business in town and they will tell you this is a hot area.
But not as much as in 2016-17 when this high-end food court, bar and lounge opened. But the development of R. House was clearly key to Remington’s rise to fame, joining the ranks of hip spots that include the Paper Moon Diner and Duff Goldman’s Charm City Cakes.
If you stop by R. House, check out the food vendors. In the past, the tariff offered would have been “same old, same old”. One of my favorite places to eat is “BRD”. They made chicken sandwiches before chicken sandwiches were cool.

Before the pandemic, my wife and I would show up at R. House’s R Bar for happy hour and then stroll past the various vendors before deciding on dinner choices. There are plenty of seating and lounging areas to rest your feet while you lie down.
To be honest we haven’t been back since the pandemic. But that will change quickly. This is a destination worth the drive depending on where you are reading this. It’s just around the corner from the Baltimore Museum of Art.
So an idea for your weekend plans: visit the museum to satisfy your need for art and culture. Then whet your appetite for a delicious bite at R. House.
