You can find Quadwing’s Indulgence as potential monster material after defeating a Quadwing. The Quadwings are a recurring monster that appeared in previous Xenoblade Chronicles games and they reappear in the third installment. You can find them fairly early in the game, but that means you might not find them while trying to gather resources.

You want to make your way back to the Aetia region, where you start the game. You can come back here as you progress through the story and find a comfortable spot. When you arrive in the Aetia region, we recommend that you head close to the Gamma Colony, where Mio, Sena, and Taion came from before joining your party. South of Ciel Lock, a small group of Quadwings will fly over the water.

There should be a handful flying around in this area.
