You need to head to the Fornis region and you can explore the Shikashaka Mesa. You’ll find this location on the western side of the map, well off the beaten path you typically travel. However, if you’re looking for Fourtune Clovers, that’s also a good place to start, as a quest involving Ven will take you here.

When you find the Munchygrub fossils, keep an eye out for the small rocks on the ground. We recommend going to the north of Shikashaka Mesa and going at the edge of the map next to the cliff. We’ve been able to successfully harvest a handful of Munchygrub fossil resources and use them in our gem recipes.

Alternatively, you might have a good chance exploring to the west, closer to the river, below the Igno Viaduct. However, we only found one or two Munchygrub fossils. However, we found some of the others in this area, namely the Dark Fish and the Jagron Fossil.
