How to catch Noibat in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Given that Noibat is a bat, it’s not surprising to hear that in order to catch them in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you need to find them in caves at night. Most likely the earliest place you’ll find them is in a cave between Medali and Port Marinada. They can also spawn at night in caves in Northern Province (Area One) and Northern Province (Area Two).

If you find a Noibat, chances are it will fly too high for you to reach. In this case, we recommend continuing to walk around and find another one near the ground. If you happen to see one sleeping, you can easily drop it and surprise it for a free round of attack.

If you’re fighting Noibat, you should know that it’s particularly weak against Ice attacks, but Dragon, Fairy, and Rock attacks are also super effective. Bug, Fighting, Fire, Grass, and Water attacks are not as effective against them. If you have an Electric-type Pokémon, we recommend using it to try to reduce the Noibat’s health and possibly paralyze it for a better chance of catching it.

After catching Noibat, keep it in your party until it reaches level 48 and evolves into Noivern. Evolution is a long wait, but given the Pokémon’s strength, it’s definitely worth it.
