Honey Slimes are one of the unique types of Slime that you can take care of on your ranch in Slime Rancher 2. A slime ideal for the fairly varied mid-game, Honey Slimes are the only form of Slime that produce Honey Plorts, which each sell for around 45 Newbucks on average in the Plort Market. Despite their value as livestock, these Honey Slimes live in a particularly remote area and are quite difficult to find.
Where to get honey slime
Native to the remote island of Starlight Strand, reaching the Honey Slimes requires some progression worthy of their mid-game value. To get to Starlight Strand you need to reach and activate the teleporter at the south end of Rainbow Fields. Before you can even set foot on the island, however, you must defeat a Cotton Gordo Slime guarding the teleporter, which is easiest done by feeding it 10 local fruits and vegetables.
Once you get to Starlight Strand, tracking down those honey slimes can be a bit of a wild goose (slime) hunt of sorts. Honey slimes are golden brown in color and have a hexagonal honeycomb pattern on their forehead. They are significantly rarer than other slimes on the island and will take some effort to encounter as you explore every corner of the island.

If the Honey Slimes prove too difficult to fencing and vacuuming, you can always offer them some Mint Mango as bait. Mint Mango, this slime type’s favorite food, can later be fed to the honey slimes on your ranch, doubling their plort production output. Just be sure to keep them away from cat-like slimes like Tabby Slimes and Hunter Slimes, as these predators will devour your rare Honey Slimes whole.
