If you missed your chance to catch the latest episode in the Shrek franchises in theaters, don’t worry. It won’t be long before you can catch it in the comfort of your own home. This was announced today Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will stream exclusively on Peacock on March 10th.
This latest adventure starring everyone’s favorite feline hero sees Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) and discovers that his fast-paced and adventurous lifestyle left him in the last of his nine lives. In order to get his life back so he can return to his old life, Puss goes in search of the fabled wishing star and wishes it all back. Along the journey, Puss will team up with friends new and old, face off against villains and discover more than he ever imagined. The sequel also sees the return of Salma Hayek Pinault presented as Kitty Softpaws and Harvey Guillen, Florence Pugh, John Mulaney, Wagner Moura, Olivia ColmanAnd Ray Winstone for the Shrek Universe.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish hit theaters last Christmas to critical acclaim and fans alike. Not long after, fans were delighted to learn that the sequel finished as a nominee for that year’s Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, earning it the fourth nomination in a row. The sequel grossed over $400 million at the worldwide box office and spawned the Shrek franchise worldwide at the box office to almost 4 billion US dollars.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was directed by Joel Crawford with co-director Januel Mercado. Both directors are no strangers to making successful animated films. Crawford and Mercado worked on hits like in the art department Kung Fu Panda 2 And The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. The screenplay was written by Paul Fischer And Tommy Swerdlow based on a story by Swerdlov and Tom Wheeler.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will join many of DreamWorks’ other hit animated films on Peacock. The streamer is also currently home to the other films in the Shrek franchises as well The Croods And World tour of the trolls.
