When was the last time Saint Peter’s won an NCAA Tournament?

Saint Peter’s is the Cinderella of this year’s NCAA tournament. The Peacocks beat 2nd seed Kentucky and are on the verge of another win over 7th seed Murray State. With the “newbies” making their way to the Round of 16 of Sweet, let’s take a look back at their history in the tournament.

All of this is new to Saint Peter’s. Although the school has entered the NCAA three times before, this is the first time it has won a game — let alone reached the Sweet 16. This is the first time the Peacocks have appeared in the NCAA tournament since five years. 2011. They were the 14th seed in the Southwest region and lost to Purdue, 65-43.

WynnBET currently has a Peacocks odds of winning at +10000. Saint Peter’s is the third 15th seed to reach the Round of 16 Sweet – following in the footsteps of the Florida Gulf Coast (2012) and Oral Roberts (2021).

The Peacocks took down Kentucky’s favorite to win it all. They will be playing the Texas-Purdue winner, who had not yet played at the time this article was published.

The 15th seed never made it to Elite 8. Saint Peter’s has made history and every step it takes will continue to make history.
