When is the Metroid Prime Remastered Physical Edition release date?

Metroid Prime fans have had their hearts broken countless times over the years. Although the fourth part was already announced at E3 2017, only a brief teaser of it has been seen so far. Luckily, long-suffering fans will get a chance to return to Tallon IV when Metroid Prime Remastered comes to Switch. The digital version is already out, but when will the physical version of Metroid Prime Remastered be released?

Metroid Prime Remastered Physical Edition release date

The February 2023 Nintendo Direct was packed with announcements, but Metroid fans will undoubtedly be most excited for the announcement of Metroid Prime Remastered. The existence of the remaster was an open secret for years, but finally seeing the announcement was an exciting moment for those still waiting for Metroid Prime 4 to see the light of day. Fans eager to immerse themselves in one of Samus’ greatest adventures can already download the game from Nintendo eShop, but those wanting a physical copy will have to wait a little longer.

Physical editions of Metroid Prime Remastered will be released in North America on February 22nd. Fans in Japan and Europe won’t be able to get their hands on the game until March 3rd.

The trailer, shown during the Nintendo Direct, showed off the graphical upgrade Metroid Prime Remastered is getting, but it also revealed some key gameplay features that fans will be excited to see. In addition to her usual array of bombs, missiles, and energy beams, Samus’ adventures on Tallon IV include using her sights to identify an enemy’s weaknesses and discern mission objectives.

As players explore the interconnected paths and twisting maps of Tallon IV, they will unlock legendary Metroid powers like the Morph Ball and Grapple Beam. You’ll also encounter some of Samus’ greatest enemies like Ridley and Flaahgra. The game’s first-person view and 3D environments were both firsts for the series, which had been firmly entrenched in the 2D side-scroller genre for years when Metroid Prime first released on the Game Cube in 2022.

The digital edition of Metroid Prime Remastered is already available, but fans can pick up the physical edition on February 22nd in North America and March 3rd in Japan and Europe.
