Playing through Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the time of day changes frequently as you explore why. While the time of day is an aesthetic touch, it has good play value. You’ll want to use it to track down specific Pokemon that may appear at certain times of the day, and some Pokemon even evolve at certain times. There is a special time between day and night also called evening, also known as twilight. Here’s what you need to know when the evening comes to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to get Dusk/Dusk in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Evening will be between day and night as day turns into night. This time of day will come before the stars come out and the moon reaches the sky. Timing for this effect is crucial, especially when attempting to evolve a Rockruff into its Lycanroc Dusk form. Normally, Lycanroc has two forms, a day and a midnight form, but its third form is even rarer.

Dawn will set in just after sunset in the west, and you’ll see it drop below the sea. The sky will turn a soft purple and the stars will begin to emerge. However, it is not quite dark yet. There’s still a bit of sunlight left in the sky, and that’s when you can take advantage of the dawn for your adventure and transform your Lycanroc into its dawn form. It can take some practice to get the timing right, and we recommend saving your game before attempting to evolve your Rockruff. You may miss the timing of this development.
You can quickly confirm the time of day by opening your card and looking at the icon above. There will be an “Evening” icon to indicate that dusk has arrived.
