Kentucky basketball star Oscar Tshiebwe is officially American-American. The next box to tick is National Player of the Year.
The Kentucky Wildcats are topping the SEC Tournament with an all-American in their ranks.
Center Oscar Tshiebwe won the title on Monday by unanimous choice for Sporting News’ all-American team for 2021-22.
He was the only unanimous pick after a stellar debut season in Lexington.

Voters have recognized Tshiebwe for his huge contributions to the Wildcats this season, especially across the board.
He leads the NCAA with 15.3 rebounds per game and has put him at the top of the charts since 1985.
As an offensive weapon, he is extremely effective. His on-field scoring rate of 0.606 ranks 10th nationally while his PER is second at 35.5. He owns the largest Win Stock in the NCAA.
It’s safe to say more All-American titles will come to him. But will something even bigger follow?
Is Oscar Tshiebwe National Player of the Year?
Tshiebwe had the SEC Player of the Year Award. And several publications named him National Player of the Year, including College Hoops Today.
It seems a foregone conclusion that one of the big prizes like Naismith College Player of the Year or AP College Basketball Player will also appear in his trophy case. .
The individual title is great but Tshiebwe has said that his focus is on winning the final prize: a national championship.
This will be his first time participating in the NCAA Tournament. March Madness was canceled during the freshman season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, Tshiebwe left West Virginia before the Climbing Team’s tour of the tournament.
His legend in Kentucky is getting bigger and bigger. We’ll see how great it can become.
