Sony’s San Diego Studio is now a multiplatform studio MLB The Show is available on Xbox and Nintendo platforms. So expect it, although it won’t be a PlayStation exclusive MLB The Show 23 later this year. God of War Ragnarok was one of the biggest games of the last year and also one of the last big games of 2022, having only launched about two months ago. Sony Santa Monica too doesn’t seem to have any plans to do DLC for Ragnarokso it’s likely the team will be mostly silent in 2023.

Sucker Punch could be a wild card in 2023 as it’s been around three years since then Spirit of Tsushimabut the studio also appears to be working on a sequel to its open-world samurai game rather than a new IP or a continuation of the previous series Notorious and Smart Cooper. The gap between Notorious: Second Son and Spirit of Tsushima was about six years, but with the studio iterating on legacy systems, we might hear about the new Samurai sequel sooner rather than later. Finally, Valkyrie Entertainment was a more cautious acquisition for Sony, and the team acted primarily as a support studio until recently God of War Ragnarok. As such, the team will likely help with other projects starting in 2023.

Phew, I think that’s all on the PlayStation radar so far. Has anything piqued your interest or are you hoping Sony will announce more enticing projects in the coming year?
