What is the mysterious cave code in Fallout 76

The Wastelands update for Fallout 76 brought a ton of new things to experience in Appalachia. These new features included a questline about introducing the Wasteland to a new form of currency; Gold bar. To get there, however, you must enter Vault 79 and reach the National Treasury. While getting through Vault 79 is difficult enough, you can’t even get to the vault without going through the mysterious cave and finding out the code to unlock the door.

Where is the mysterious cave?

You will eventually make your way to the mysterious cave as part of the main questline for the Wastelanders DLC. This quest begins by going to the Wayward south of Vault 76. Finally, after going through the questline, head north where the mysterious cave is located.

The mysterious cave is located in the northernmost part of the map in the mountains near Bailey Family Cabins. Keep on your toes along the way. There are many dangerous enemies on the way.

How to get the Mysterious Cave code

When you reach the mysterious cave, inside you’ll see a concrete wall with a keyboard attached to it. This wall will open as long as you have the correct code for the door. Unfortunately we cannot simply give you the code as it is randomly selected for each player.

To get the code for the door, you need to move across the map to different locations to find mysterious map fragments. These can be found in the following areas:

• Red Rocket Mega Stop – On a counter in the building at the southernmost point of the area
• Eerie Caves – Found on a counter in the gift shop
• Mothman Museum – At the reception near the tills
• The General’s Steakhouse – North end of the counter on the first floor
• Harbor Church – On a counter in the hallway
• Morgantown High School – Next to a broken terminal on the second floor in the classroom with a hole in the floor

Once you’ve collected all of the mysterious map fragments, head to the Grafton Pawn Shop. This area creates an instanced room where you can assemble the mysterious map fragments on a whiteboard. Activate a nearby black light and you’ll get the code for the keyboard.
