What is the maximum light level in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder? answered

The latest season of Destiny 2, the Season of Plunder, is about pirates. You can expect to raid multiple ships, take their loot, and search the solar system for buried treasure as you embark on multiple adventures with your crew. All the loot you and your crew earn means you have a chance to level up your Warden, and there’s a new tier of Light to achieve. Here’s what you need to know about the maximum light level in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder.

What are the soft and hard light level caps in Season of Plunder?

There are two thresholds to hit as you prepare to prepare your Guardian for some of the more difficult content in the game. There is the Softcap Light Level and the Hardcap Light Level. For Season of Plunder, the soft cap is 1570 and the hard cap is 1580.

The difference between the soft and hard cap numbers is the loot you can expect from Destiny 2 activities. Much of the activity in the game will drop numbers that will take you close to the soft cap, and getting to that point with all of your Warden’s gear will make it much more difficult to continue, which brings us to the hard cap.

The cap in Destiny 2 is when you will no longer receive gear that completes traditional activities while playing the game. Instead, to reach that number, which is 1580, you must complete activities and content that will reward you with Pinnacle Engrams. These pinnacle engrams are guaranteed to give you weapon or armor that is better than what you have equipped. If you’re working on something that will give you a pinnacle engram reward, make sure it’s the best gear your Warden can wear. Otherwise, these activities will be wasted, making it much harder to reach the hard cap.
