If you’ve wandered the world of Core Keeper, you’ve probably come across many items that don’t seem to have any immediate use. Not everything in the procedurally generated survival game has an obvious function, but players will often find a use later in the playthrough.
If you managed to collect the Chipped Blade in Core Keeper, don’t throw it away just yet. The item is a key component for one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
What is the Chipped Blade used for?
The Chipped Blade can be found in a temple in the wilds of Azeos and doesn’t seem to be all that useful. However, its description indicates its usefulness. This is part of an ancient weapon and can be used to reassemble the Rune Song, one of the best weapons in the game. Rune Song not only increases your maximum health and restores your health on every hit, it also has a 15% chance to kill any target with less health than you on hit, making it capable of some tough enemies to kill immediately.
However, the rune song will require some work to put back together. You need to find the Runeparchment workbench item and collect the following materials:
- Broken handle
- Chipped blade
- Clear gem
- 10 Ancient Gems
- 50 iron ingots
Once you gather the materials, you can craft the legendary weapon. If you have questions about how crafting works in Core Keeper, you can always search our crafting guide for answers.
