The Phoenix, Arizona native went into cardiac arrest and fell headfirst onto rocks and pavement.

“It was like a complete light switch off,” she said in an interview with American radio show host Tina Griffin.

“The light switch went off and I went straight downstairs.”

The mum was “blue and lifeless,” her eyes rolling back as her husband Brian worked to bring her back – performing CPR while her friend was on the phone to emergency services.

Paramedics arrived quickly and used a defibrillator to “shock” her three times.

On the way to the hospital, she was shocked twice more.

But nothing happened.

For a total of 27 minutes, Hines had little to no oxygen to her brain and no heartbeat.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, 10 minutes without oxygen can cause brain death.

Doctors feared that Hine’s lack of oxygen would be fatal.

But when she was in an emergency, a doctor “shocked” Hines again — for the sixth time.

“I opened my eyes and saw the fluorescent lights,” she said.

Hines lived.

She was put straight into a coma before anyone could tell what she was seeing.

After Hines got off the ventilator, she was ready to reveal what she had experienced.

Her friend Dave handed her a notepad and pen.

She started doodling, writing: “It’s real”.

When she was able to speak, Hines related that she had met Jesus “face to face.”

“The incredible stillness and peacefulness that I experienced was Jesus standing there with his arms wide open,” she told the Christian Broadcasting Network.

“And right behind Jesus was this incredible glow, it was the most vibrant and beautiful yellow.”

Four days after his “death,” Hines was discharged from the hospital.

Still brought to tears as she recalls their close encounter, Tina Griffin says she even cries at sunset as the “bright yellow” colors remind her of what she saw.

“It was amazing, hard to describe colors, it was yellow, white,” she said.

Years after “dying,” Hines became emotional when she saw a painting of Jesus by an eight-year-old girl named Akiane in 2003.

“I said ‘there’s Jesus’ — honestly, that’s the exact picture of Jesus that I saw,” she told Tina Griffin.

Five years later, Hines is now a grandmother.

She continues to live a life of family, fitness and recently published a book about her journey.
