What Coach K had to say after Duke lost to UNC in their last home game

Mike Krzyzewski’s last home game didn’t go as Duke fans had hoped. That’s what coach K said after the game.
Well, the Duke Blue Devils didn’t have much fun at Mike Krzyzewski’s last home game.
The Duke basketball legend probably didn’t expect his final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium to be a disappointing rivalry loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels, but unfortunately for the Blue Devils, Coach K got just that.
While North Carolina and Duke were close at halftime and Duke took a 41-39 lead, the Tar Heels defeated the Blue Devils in the second half, eventually defeating Duke 94-81.
All rivalry losses are painful, especially for longtime trainers and legendary figures. For a coach like Krzyzewski and a program like Duke, a loss to North Carolina like Saturday night’s had to be extraordinarily awful.
Here’s what Coach K said after the Blue Devils fell short at home against North Carolina.
Duke Basketball: Mike Krzyzewski speaks after the Blue Devils lost to North Carolina Tar Heels
Interestingly, Krzyzewski took the opportunity to praise his opponent’s best player. Krzyzewski noted that he thinks North Carolina’s Armando Bacot is the ACC Player of the Year. That’s high praise for his rival’s star.
Of course, Bacot showed up, scoring 23 points and grabbing seven rebounds to help the Tar Heels beat the Blue Devils.
But overall, the entire North Carolina roster seemed to be playing on a different level. This is especially true in the second half. The Blue Devils just couldn’t keep up with the Tar Heels on the track.
The moment had to be emotional for Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils. Of course, that’s not how he wanted his time at Cameron Indoor Stadium to be remembered, but that’s the way it is.
