“We want a billion, Bruno and Fred the Red for Sesko” – Reb Bull Salzburg names his prize for Manchester United goal Benjamin Sesko
In a funny tweet RedBull Salzburg declares that they want “One Billion, Bruno Fernandes and Mascot Fred the Red” to the Benjamin Sesko. After a breakthrough season in Austriathe Red Devils are said to be interested in Sesko.
The teenager scored 11 goals in all competitions and helped Salzburg win the championship and cup. He also made his senior debut for Slovenia, where he has won 13 caps. Sesko scored the decisive goal in Salzburg’s 1-0 win over Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
The teenager, who is 6ft 4in, has been compared to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, with critics praising his physicality and pace. Ever since rumors of United’s interest surfaced earlier this month, there has been much speculation about Sesko’s future.
After a tweet by journalist and so-called transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Salzburg’s English Twitter account decided to take action. Romano claimed in the tweet that United are in “well informed” about Sesko and monitors him. They claim he is “really talented”, but there is no offer on the table. With over 10.3 million followers, Romano has one of the most popular transfer accounts on Twitter.
Salzburg’s Twitter account retweeted Romano and wrote: “We want 300 million plus Bruno [Fernandes].” The next day they increased their offer and said: “Update: We want a billion now, Bruno and Fred the Red for Sesko.”

Can Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko add firepower to Manchester United attack?
Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez have all joined Manchester United since new manager Erik ten Hag was appointed earlier this summer. Unless they’re willing to sacrifice beloved mascot Fred the Red, Sesko likely won’t be the fourth.
It is believed in all seriousness that Salzburg will accept an offer of almost £55m for Sesko. Transfermarkt value him at £9m but the Austrian club won’t accept such a low bid.
The youngster still has four years left on his current contract. Salzburg can offer Sesko something United cannot: Champions League football. The Austrians have already qualified for the group stage of this year’s competition after reaching the knockout stage last season and losing 8-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich in the Round of 16.
