The more complicated reasons reportedly at the root of the hatred between Allen and point guard Rajon Rondo involved a trade. Apparently, according to Perkins, Chris Paul was a player the Celtics wanted to trade for and as the “Big Three” von Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were consulted on a package that would include Rondo for the permanent All-Star, only the former Husky was in favor of the deal and Rondo eventually found out the information somehow.

In a recent interview with JJ Redick on “The Old Man and the Three” Podcast, Kendrick Perkins spoke about how Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo were able to work things out between them, and it seems like they’ve cracked it. Perkins explained: “We got Ray and Rondo to unwrap it, they had so much beef. We came to the practice facility, we bought the boxing gloves and they actually had to unwrap them.
