Mitchell Swepson, Australia’s leg spinner, pulled off a Shaheen Afridi-like celebration after making a superb catch to sack Pakistan’s pacesetter in Friday’s Lahore Test. Afridi was the ninth wicket to fall in Pakistan’s second innings as the hosts were defeated in the final 115-run Test to lose the series 1-0.
Afridi attempted to beat Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon in the 90th over of Pakistan’s innings. Mitchell Swepson, on the other hand, judged the shot brilliantly and pulled off an excellent deep square-leg catch.
After finishing the dive catch, the fielder turned to face the crowd and spread both arms to mimic Afridi’s celebration after a wicket fell.
Pat Cummins cleared Naseem Shah for 1 to bowl the Aussies to a famous Test series win in their first visit to the country since 1998. Afridi was back at the cottage for 5, after which Pat Cummins bowled the Aussies to a famous Test series win in their first visit to the country since 1998.
Pakistan was on target with 235 in 92.1 overs after setting a target of 351. Lyon went 5 to 83 and Cummins 3 to 23. Imam-ul-Haq led the hosts with 70 points while skipper Babar Azam contributed 55.

“I thought 350 was enough,” Pat Cummins says of setting a target for Pakistan
Australia declared their second innings 227-3, giving Pakistan a goal of 351. The hosts ended Day 4 with a record of 73 without a loss, raising the question of whether Cummins’ statement was premature.
However, after the win in Lahore, the Australian skipper claimed that he felt 350 was enough. He said at the post-game presentation:
“I think in the first innings it was fantastic how we batted and put ourselves in the lead. I figured 350 was enough for the fourth inning. It was kind of odd, the trend of the game was to try hard for the first few wickets and when it started to reverse after 40 odd overs it was a bowler game.
When asked about key players in the series win, the 28-year-old said:
“Too many to name. The best thing about this squad is that everyone has contributed in one way or another. Mitchell Swepson was great on his debut and the numbers don’t do him justice. “It’s been a fantastic experience for us over the last 15 days, the hospitality has been amazing and the fight from Babar and co has made the series even better.”
