WATCH: Megyn Kelly slams Biden in flaming interview with former Dem presidential nominee

Independent journalist Megyn Kelly isn’t a fan of former Democratic presidential nominee Marianne Williamson’s defense of President Joe Biden given his handling of global turmoil and mounting domestic problems like rising inflation and an extremely porous southern border.

In an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, Williamson berated Americans for delving too deeply into their own political corners, arguing that people should respond to news as citizens, not partisans.

“Eisenhower said that at its best, the American spirit is both liberal and conservative. We are E Pluribus Unum, we are different political views, we are different ideologies,” Williamson began. “But there must be some unifying principles that we agree on.”

“Whether it’s Biden acting in an outrageous way or Trump acting in an outrageous way, we shouldn’t just respond to these things as Republicans or Democrats. We should meet them as Americans,” Williamson continued.

Kelly responded with several examples of Biden’s behavior that she found outrageous.

“We see Joe Biden doing things like the moratorium on evictions, which he knew was unlawful. And the same goes for the mandate on the vaccines, he knew it was going to be crushed but he did it anyway,” Kelly said.

“If we want to be grounded in reality, then let’s be grounded in reality. And this President misleads us at every turn – and the media misleads us at every turn. When it comes to the media, when it comes to Russiagate, I mean, and we should just look at the Orange Man Bad and blame him,” she continued.

Williamson countered that Kelly used an us-versus-them narrative herself, saying, “Even what you’re saying right now gets stuck in the right-left comparison.”

But Kelly responded that it really was a matter of “right versus wrong.”

Williamson went on to complain that former President Donald Trump has continued and improved domestic oil and gas production, leading to US energy independence for the first time in decades.

“We have to do it – we have to do it, Marianne. People who have electricity to power their homes and need cheap energy can’t get by with the prices we’re charging them,” Kelly fired back, noting that the high cost of Americans’ green energy transition is overwhelming for most are not economically viable.

“If we had started a just transition to clean energy back when Jimmy Carter first spoke about it, we wouldn’t be as vulnerable to Russia as we are now,” Williamson complained. “This used to be a country that knew how to respond to emergencies.”

Kelly then argued that Biden was weak by not strengthening the military after the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan was a sign of weakness.

“Don’t tense that muscle—going into the fetal position was a disaster!” said Kelly.

“May I speak now?” Williamson replied snidely before resuming a discussion on green energy, adding that dependence on Russian oil was the problem.

“If we had switched to green energy — to clean energy in recent years, when we should have — we wouldn’t have to be rushed to Russia.”

However, Kelly pushed back once more, noting that the United States had been energy independent when Trump was president. “There is nothing wrong with natural gas!”

But Williamson also pushed back. “This is America, a free society, we don’t all have to agree. They say there is nothing wrong with natural gas. A lot of people have a problem with that.”
