It all started with a foul on the basket. The players came together, but things didn’t escalate until Lopez rushed into the fray. Harrell lined up with the Magic Center as Schofield shoved the Hornets’ big man in the back. After that it started.
Orlando may be frustrated with her season, but that doesn’t justify it when things boil over like this. In the meantime, Harrell should be wiser about staying out of those situations at a crucial point in the season.
Harrell had 14 points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks from his ejection. Lopez ended his 20 minutes with a point, four rebounds and two assists. Schofield had eight points and five rebounds.
After all the romp, the Hornets claimed the decisive victory, 128-101. They guaranteed their first .500 season since 2016.
LaMelo Ball led with 26 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and four steals. As a collective, Charlotte had 10 blocks at night.
Chuma Okeke emerged in loss with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.
