Watch for tornadoes in red-hot Iowa

Iowa State has had a college basketball season using a textbook roller coaster.

The Cyclones started the season with a 12-0 record with wins over 25th-placed Xavier and No.9 Memphis, but then began their conference schedule with a 4-9 game scoreline.

Now, they won four times in a row before tonight’s game against Oklahoma State, and can hit their stride at the perfect time. In their last three games, the Cyclones have an effective goal-scoring rate of 64.7%, which is the fourth best nationally for that period.

Therefore, I will support them with my own money tonight.

Remember last season Oregon State? They were at best an above average team, but then turned hot when the regular season ended and went on to win the Pac-12 and eventually make it into the Elite 8 before finally falling to Houston.

Oregon State even finished the regular season with a 20-13 record, similar to Iowa State’s current record of 20-9.

College basketball all want to be hot at the right time, and Iowa State could be this year’s team to do exactly that.

I think they’re going to keep the momentum going and can easily make it up to Oklahoma State at home tonight.
