Meanwhile, rain hampered play and both South Africa and West Indies were rewarded with a point each. After the four-hour delay, only 10.5 overs were possible. This made South Africa the second team after Australia to qualify for the semi-finals.

West Indies won the toss, choosing to roll first. In a game of just 26 overs a side, the West Indies ballers took advantage of the extra bounce on the field and sacked the top 4 without going into double figures. They reduced South Africa to 22-4 when Chinelle Henry became a star after taking three wickets.

It was Mignon du Preez and Marizanne Kapp who rebuilt the innings with a 32-ball, 39-run partnership for the fifth wicket. But then the drizzle set in and lasted all day. The condition did not improve and the game was abandoned.

West Indies have lost three games and their hopes are hanging. If India or England lose a game, they could still go to the knockout stage.
India is fourth on the rankings with six pints.

Now India need to win their next game against South Africa on Sunday to progress to the knockout rounds. Even if there is no result from the game, India still has a better run rate than West Indies. The West Indies ended their league campaign after this game and look to South Africa’s win over India.
