Watch: Baseball fan gets shock of his life when he proposes working with crowd on field

It wasn’t written that way.

A baseball fan has his one shot at the perfect marriage proposal ruined by a security guard who clearly had no sense for theatrics.

The fan took his chances to get away by entering the field and getting down on one knee during a brief window during the game.

He had the attention of his partner and the crowd when a busy security guard flew in from the left and knocked the helpless romantic to the ground with a spear.

A number of other security guards then rushed the rogue fan, who was pinned to the ground and believed to still be holding the ring.

The moment was captured on video that has since gone viral across the internet and has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people.

“My husband just wanted to apply and got CTE instead,” one person said.

“No, that’s totally unnecessary,” added another.

“This security guard should go to jail,” said a third.
